2Spots CeramicsSarah started her pottery journey over 30 years ago when she went to evening classes and then got hooked. She set up 2Spots Ceramics in 2014 when she decided to turn her hobby into a business! Sarah has a ‘folk-art’ rustic style to her work, with each piece reflecting its’ handmade nature and designed to bring joy when you use it.
Every item is unique and completely made by hand from earthenware clay. Sarah creates some of her work on the potter’s wheel and some from rolled-out slabs of clay. There are lots of different processes involved in creating each piece, and time needs to be allowed for careful drying between the stages. The items are decorated with coloured slips and underglazes with decoration added using the sgraffito technique of carving through the applied colour into the clay below. Sarah loves to sketch & doodle and then apply these designs to her pottery. More information can be found at www.2spots.co.uk |
