Lynda Purdue - Jewellery Maker

Romancing the Stones
Lynda Purdue is the artist behind Romancing the Stones, a jewellery brand rooted in her fascination with the natural beauty, colour and story of gemstones. She creates unique Tree of Life pendants, earrings, bracelets and necklaces using genuine gemstones, wire, and intricate beadwork—each piece infused with care, meaning and craftsmanship.

Gemstones have long been associated with love, romance, myths and legends, and Lynda draws inspiration not only from these rich traditions but also from her travels, particularly to India. A recent trip to Jaipur gave her the chance to witness master lapidarists at work, deepening her appreciation for the skill involved in cutting and polishing these tiny treasures.

Her Tree of Life designs are inspired by another personal passion—trees themselves. Each pendant is crafted to be one of a kind, just like every tree, and often reflects the symbolic energy of the stones used. Lynda uses silver or gold-plated wire and carefully selected gemstones, offering jewellery that is both beautiful and meaningful. Each item includes gemstone information and a certificate of authenticity.

Jewellery making has been a part of Lynda’s creative life for many years, and about 12 years ago she began working more extensively with gemstones, drawn in by their variety and natural elegance. She now offers workshops, takes commissions, and will be showcasing a new collection at Hampshire Open Studios under Romancing the Stones.
